Cheese Triangles

A snack made with grated chees and maida flour

you can try paneer triangles using the same recipe(paneer instead of cheese)

Ingredients vegetarian 1 servings


    • 2 cups maida flour
    • 3/4 cup gramdhal flour(kadalai mavu)
    • 1 cup grated cheese
    • 2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 tsp pepper powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp salt or needed
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup refined oil

    Directions

    1. Mix all the ingredients except oil to make a stiff fine dough.
    2. Divide the dough into lemon-size balls. Roll it out into small  poories.
    3. Take a knife and cut the spread dough to triangles of 1 inch size.
    4. Heat oil in a fryin pan and deep-fry the cheese triangles till golden brown on both sides.
    5. Serve this hot at teatime.

    Hi everyone, reduce the chilli powder to 1 1/2 tsp,pepper powder to 1/2 tsp ,garam masala to 1/3 tsp and add 1/5 tsp half-crushed ajwain seeds(optional),1 tsp white sesame seeds(optional) and half-crushed cumin seeds - 1/3 tsp(optional) plus other ingredients and needed water.

    Coolcook,the batter must be of right consistency.If u need other spices to be added,try with them.I think u r a food-critic and not a recipe trier.All the best next time.Or, better try other(s) recipes (that suits ur taste)here.

    gramdal flour is bengal gram and besan in hindi.

    Hi Sumeet!,Gramdal Flour is Bengalgram(used to look-like Toordal and used in preparing Pozhi stuffing)dry-flour(which we use in Pakoda recipe with rice flour).Rabz!,I luv to try this with cooked & mashed potatoes,but haven't tried yet.

    Hi Pankhuri,the gramdal flour is bengalgram flour(its used in the preparation of Mysore Pak,Bajji batter etc.). Pls note,u need to add 2 tbsp oil while kneading the flour and also reduce the measure of chilli powder to 1 1/2 tsp.
