Neer Dosa

Dosa made from Rice & Coconut

This is also a very famous receipe of Mangalore which is eaten with Coconut-Jaggery mixture. Thanks to my friend for sharing this receipe with me. No need to ferment.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 cups Raw Rice
    • 1 cup grated Coconut (take only white part)
    • Salt to taste 

    Directions

    1. Wash Rice twice in plain water & Soak overnite.
    2. Grind Rice along with Coconut to a fine paste by adding little water.
    3. Remove to a bowl. Add Salt & mix well. Add more water & the consistency of the batter should be thin.
    4. Heat griddle & rub some Oil. Put a ladle of batter in the center & quickly rotate the ladle so that the batter spread equally & the dosa should be thin. Put some Oil around it just like normal dosa.
    5. Neer dosa is ready, serve with Coconut chutney or Coconut-Jaggery mixture.
    Note: Consistency of the batter should be like Milk. Only then dosa comes out good. These dosa are very light & can be eaten for breakfast or taken in lunch box.
