amla/avla/gooseberry.especially we take this on dwadasi with (turkey berry/katai)sundakai added in kozhambu and athi keerai(agathi/agasti).

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup yoghurt
    • 5 amla
    • 1 tbsp coconut
    • 2 green chilli
    • 1 tbsp ginger
    • 1 tsp oil
    • 1/2 tsp mustard
    • 1/4 tsp hing
    • salt,to taste
    • 1 tsp coriander leaves chopped for garnishing

    Directions

    1. Wash amla and grate them and remove the seed inside.
    2. Grind amla,coconut,green chilli and ginger into a smooth paste.
    3. Add this to curd.
    4. Heat oil in a pan,splutter mustard and hing.
    5. Add this to the curd.Add salt and mix well.
    6. Nellikai pachidi is ready.
