Kachch ki Gawar

its another easy recipe. it's origin in kachch. its sweet, sour and spicy.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 500 g gawar (washed and each cut in small pieces)
    • ½ tsp turmuric
    • ½ tsp dhanya powder
    • ½ tsp zeera
    • ½ tsp zeera powder
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • Oil (as much as required to cook)
    • tamarind paste mixed with jagerry
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Put oil in a deep nonstick pan (kadhai)
    2. When the oil is heated put the gawar and salt
    3. Now add all the spices and tamrind paste and stir fry it for a min or two
    4. sprinkle some water while stir frying it
    5. Now simmer the flame and cover it with a lid
    6. Put some water on the lid so the gawar will be cooked and wont get burned
    7. Time and again check if it is cooked.
    8. Serve with dal rice or rotis.

    Divya, i wont stop you from trying to cook the gavar first and than add masalas, lemme know if it turns out to be perfect.
