Fruit Payasam

A healthy and delicious fruit kheer

A delightful mix of fruits and sago(sabudana) cooked in milk and nuts.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • ripe Mango pieces - 10 no(1 cm size)
    • ripe banana pieces - 10 no(small)
    • ripe apple pieces - 10 no.s(1 cm size)
    • green cardamom powder - 1 tsp
    • full cream milk - 500 ml
    • sago (sabudana) - 1 tbsp
    • water - 250 ml
    • almonds(soaked, peeled and cut) - 1 tbsp
    • crushed cashews - 10 no.s
    • raisins - 10 no
    • ghee - 2 tsp
    • oil - 1 tsp
    • sugar - 1 tbsp
    • grated coconut - 1 tbsp
    • saffron - little

    Directions

    1. soak sago in water for 30 mins.
    2. Heat oil and ghee in a pan and fry crushed cashews and raisins and keep aside.
    3. In the remaining ghee saute sago and grated coconut for a min. 
    4. Add fresh cream milk and water and bring it to boil .
    5. when sabudana is cooked(after 8 mins) add sugar,green cardamom powder ,fruit pieces and almond pieces.
    6. Allow it to boil for 2 mins.Add crushed cashews,raisins and saffron
    7. Serve it hot or cool.

    hi christy...2day i tried ur Fruit Payasam & it was really good. I didnt add Sago as my husband doesnt like it much.

    Soak sabudana for 10 to 12 mins only.Cook for 5 mins before adding fruits.You can add 1 cup water when u add the fruits.
