Tomato Chutney

Tasty chutney can be eaten with rice or roti

Its like a pickle .Good to eat even with veg pulao or veg biryani .Can be put on rotis or bread as well .

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 kg ripe tomatoes (de-seeded & cut to very fine pieces)
    • 1/2 tsp zeera
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    • 4-5 dry whole red chillies
    • few methi seeds
    • curry patta leaves
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp of ginger garlic
    • 1-2 tsps pickle spices ( roast 2-3 tbsps each of  zeera & mustard & 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds & grind to a powder ) Store & use whenever required .
    • 3-4 tbsps of oil .
    • A little sugar or jaggery .

    Directions

    1. Heat oil add the whole zeera mustard dry red chillies ,fenugreek & curry patta .
    2. Add ginger garlic paste & stir .
    3. Add cut tomatoes ,red chilly powder ,tumeric salt to taste .
    4. Cover & cook till tomatoes are tender .Continue cooking on low heat, fry till oil separates .
    5. Add little sugar or little jaggery .
    6. Finally add the spice powder .
    7. Can be stored for 2-3 days
