Sweet Balls

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup Rice flour
    • 1 1/4 cup Water
    • 2 tsp Vegetable Oil
    • a pinch of Salt

    For Stuffing :

    • 1 1/2 cups Grated Coconut
    • 1/2 cup Powdered Jaggery
    • 2-3 pinches of Cardamom powder (Elaichi)

    Directions

    1. In a kadai, add Coconut, Jaggery & 3 tblsp of Water. Fry well until the water has evaporated & all the mixture comes together. Mixture should not be too dry.
    2. Add Cardamom powder, mix well & keep aside to cool.
    3. Boil Water by adding salt & oil.
    4. Add Rice flour to the boiling water stirring constantly for about 3-4 mins. There should not be any lumps. Once it is done, remove from heat & cover it for about 8-10 mins.
    5. Knead the Rice dough until it is soft to the touch by dipping your hand in water.
    6. Make a cup shape from the Rice flour & place a ball of Coconut mixture in the center. Close all the sides.
    7. Steam the balls for about 6-7 mins. Serve hot.
