chapati porridge

It is a yummy as well as nutritious dish loved by all ages. Just try it to feel the experience of a roller coaster.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 4 Chappatis (Leftover chapatis are best )
    • 3 Green chillies,
    • 5 cloves Garlic
    • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp each of red chilli powder & turmeric powder.
    • 2 nos Potatos,
    • 2 nos Tomatos,
    • 1 no Carrot,
    • 200 gms Cauliflower,
    • 100 gms Green Peas,
    • Coriander leaves,
    • 50 gms Groundnut,
    • 3 tablespoons groundnut oil. 
    • Salt to taste.

    Directions

    1. In a frying pan, heat the groundnut oil and add mustard seeds, green chillies, garlic & groundnuts. When it turns into golden colour add potatoes which are cut cubically.
    2. After 2 minutes, add green peas, carrot and cauliflower to the frying pan. Add spices and salt. 
    3. Meanwhile, break the chapati into medium pieces.
    4. Add tomato and allow it to cook. Add the medium pieces of chapati into the frying pan and mix it well.
    5. Add 1 glass of water to it. Leave it at a low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.
    6. Check whether the potatoes and cauliflower are cooked properly. Sprinkle coriander leaves over it.
    7. If you are a non-veg, this dish combines well with half fried eggs or egg omlette.
    8. If you are a veg, this dish combines well with papad or potato chips.
