Typical south style rava vada - tasty and nutritious

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • 250 gms. Semolina
  • 1 cup Coconut, grated
  • 6 nos. Green Chilies, chopped
  • 15 leaves Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tbsps. Yoghurt
  • Vegetable Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Fry the rava/suji with little oil in a pan till you get the fried aroma or till it gets a little brown.
  2. Mix all the above ingredients into it except oil.
  3. Add some water to mix and make it into a dough, hard enough to hold itself.
  4. Now take a small ball of the dough on your palm, press and make it into a disc and put it in the hot oil and fry.
  5. Fry till golden brown and your vada is ready to be served with ketchup or chutneys.

garam rava vada turned out to be a wonderful dish..which can be eaten anytime...being a north indian ..i wanted to taste some south dishes and this one is too good....i recommend everyone to try this out and see for urself
