Daal-Palak

Palak Bhaji with Daal

Easy to make & tasty to eat , can serve with rice or chapaties

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 bunch spinach
    • 1/2 cup toovar daal
    • 1/4 cup peanuts
    • 2 tsp oil
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • 1 tsp chilly powder
    • 1 tsp mustard-cumin seeds
    • 2 tsp jaggery
    • 2 tsp tamarind pulp(or dried mango powder) 

    Directions

    1. Wash & chop spinach finely.
    2. Pressure cook spinach along with  peanuts & daal.
    3. Heat a pan with oil, add cumin-mustard seeds. once splutter add ginger paste, cook it further  1 min & then add salt, turmeric & chilly powder.
    4. Now pour the pressure cooked spinach, mix , stir  & cook it for 5-7 tamarind .  now  add tamarind pulp & jaggery & again cook it for 2 min.
    5. Sweet & Sour palak sabji is very good with rice & mango pickle.

    Dear Sweety, jaggery is known as Gud in hindi n gul in marathi..

    This is indeed a yummy dish. addition of two-three desi tomatoes (not the hybrid ones) enhances the taste.Try it.
