Aloo Tikki

Yummy homemade tikkis

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 4 Medium sized Boiled potatoes
    • 3 small chopped Onions
    • 3 chopped green chilies
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 Teaspoon Cumin powder
    • 1 tsp. Red chili powder
    • 1 Tsp. Amchoor / Dry Mango powder
    • 2 tsp. shopped coriander/cilantro


    1. Mash the potatoes and mix all ingredients into one big bowl.
    2. Make small patties in circles or any shape you want you tikki’s
    3. Heat 5 tsp. of oil in a non stick flat pan.
    4. Fry your tikki’s slowly both sides.(if Pan is hot It will take 5-6 minutes each side)
    5. Serve the Tikki’s in individual bowl .
    6. Garnish with cold plain non fat yougurt/curd and some mint chutney or hot sauce..

    aloo tikkas can be made into yummy tikka sandwiches, toast the bread apply tomato sauce on both sides, put the tikki , add some grated cheese and place the other slice of bread on top. a good option for picnic lunch.


    if you add soaked chirwara or suzi to mashed potatoes, your tikki will become very crispy and crunchy
