Kand Sandwich

Fasting with a tasty variation...

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • ½ kg root vegetable (kand)
    • 250 gms potatoes boiled & mashed
    • 1 cup roasted groundnut powder
    • 1 tbsp ginger chilli paste
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 2 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 ½ tsp cloves powder (laung)
    • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon powder (dalchini)

    Directions

    1. Slice the root vegetable & wash it
    2. Add groundnut powder, ginger chilli paste, salt, lemon juice, sugar, chopped coriander, cloves & cinnamon powder to mashed potatoes
    3. Take a slice of root vegetable, place potato mix over it, cover it with other slice of root vegetable.
    4. Make all sandwiches in similar manner & pressure cook it for 10 minutes
    5. Remove from the pressure cooker when pressure comes down
    6. Place on a tray, garnish with grated coconut, coriander leaves
    7. Insert a toothpick with one cherry in it
    8. Serve with green chutney
