South Style Turai

Ridged gourd preparation. Good for diabetics

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 5 cups Turai (skinned & sliced)
    • 1 cup tomatoes (sliced)
    • ½ cup onion (sliced)
    • 1/4 tsp hing
    • ½ tsp haldi
    • 1 tsp lal mirch powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tbsp sambar powder
    • 1/4 tsp mustard
    • 10 kadhi patta
    • 2 tsp oil

     

    Directions

    1. Heat kadai. Add oil. Add mustard seeds, hing, haldi & mirch powder.
    2. Add kadhi patta.
    3. Add sliced onions. Stir for 2 mins. Add sliced tomatoes. Stir till water from tomatoes dry.
    4. Add turai. Add salt.( Don't cover pan. Cook on medium flame. )Let turai cook in its own juice. When turai 1/2 done add sambhar masala. Cook till water dries.
