Fish in coconut sauce.

Grilled fish cooked in coconut milk

This is a perfect dish for fish lovers. It goes very well with rice (cooked in coconut)

Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 small whole fish or 1 big fish.

    FOR GRILLING

    • 2 tsps garlic paste.
    • 2 tsps red chilly paste.
    • salt.
    • 1 lemon.
    • 1 1/2 turmeric powder.
    • 2 tsps oil.
    • 3 tsp dhania jeera powder.

    FOR SAUCE

    • 1 cup thick coconut milk.
    • 1 cup semi thick coconut milk.
    • salt.
    • 2 tsps turmeric powder.
    • 1/2 lemon.
    • 2 tsps green chilly paste.
    • corriander leaves and onion rings for garnishing.

    Directions

    1. Wash fish, make several incisions .
    2. Make a paste of garlic paste,red chilly paste,salt, lemon, turmeric,dhania jeera powder and oil, marinate fish in this paste and keep for 1 hour.
    3. Grill fish, in hot grill., meanwhile prepare sauce.
    4. Put semi thick coconut milk in a pan, add salt turmeric,green chilly paste and lemon, mix it and cook for 1 min on medium heat,place grilled fish in this and continue cooking on medium heat ,turning fish carefully, till milk dries up.
    5. Add thick coconut milk ,lower heat turn fish and cook ,til milk thick and fish well coated.dont make it  very dry,
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves, and onion rings.
    7. Serve with parathas or rice.

    Hey Fatema, Salams. My husband is from Mombasa,Kenya. He always talks about "Machi Pakka",is this the same thing? What about "Kuku Paka" if you could please publish that recepie also.
