Dry Fruit Mutton Curry

An Unique Combination

Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 kg. mutton, cubed
    • 4 onions, chopped
    • 2 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
    • 1 cup mint leaves, ground
    • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
    • 100 gms. mixed dry fruits
    • 1 tsp. garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp. jeera powder
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 2 cups curd
    • 1/2 cup coconut, grated
    • 1 tomato, sliced
    • 1/2 tsp. haldi
    • 1 tbsp. kashmiri chilli powder
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Dry roast the coconut till golden brown. Fry the onions seperately in a little oil till golden in colour. When cool, grind both coconut and onions into a paste. Keep aside.
    2. Mix mutton with haldi, chilli powder, salt and garam masala, followed by the ginger - garlic paste and the mint paste.
    3. Heat the remaining oil. Add the jeera powder, immediately followed by the meat. Saute till brown. Add curds and fry for a while.
    4. Now add the coconut paste and the dry fruits. Fry for a min. and cook under pressure with 3 cups of water till done.
    5. Garnish with the tomato slices and chopped coriander leaves.
