Doughnuts

Homemade donuts

Ingredients vegetarian 10 servings


    • 4 cups white flour
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 1/2 tbsps margarine or ghee
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • oil for frying
    • 1 1/2 cups grinded sugar
    • 2 heaped tsps baking powder

    Directions

    1. Mix all the ingredients (except grinded sugar and oil) and bind into soft dough using water.
    2. Make 6 balls out of the dough and roll each ball  into thick round, cut with a big round cookie cutter, and make a small hole in the centre using the small cutter.
    3. Finish all the dough that way and fry in hot oil on medium heat till golden brown.
    4. Keep aside to cool.
    5. Take grinded sugar in a plate roll each doughnut in the sugar ,so that the whole doughnut is covered with sugar.

    ALTERNATIVELY:

    You can mix cinnamon powder with sugar and cover the doughnut with it.
