Chicken Makhani

Chicken with cream

A different taste but u will like it

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings

    • 1 cup cream
    • 1 cup yogurt
    • 1 cup tomato puree
    • 1 chicken cut into pieces
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • 1 tsp ginger paste
    • 1 tsp green chilli paste
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 3 oz butter
    • food colour ( yellow) few drops
    • ½ tsp salt



    1. Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste ,green chilli paste, red chilli powder , 1/4 cup yogurt ,colour and salt for 3 hours
    2. Heat butter and fry the marinated chicken till brown for 10 minutes
    3. Add the remaining yogurt and tomato puree
    4. Cook on medium heat till the chicken is tender
    5. Add cream , cook for a short time till the gravy thickens
    6. Give dum of coal before serving

    Excellent! I tried this recipe and it turned out very good. The only change I would like to recommend is using 1/2 chicken cut into pieces instead of the whole cut-up chicken. Even my kids loved this dish very much. I will definitely be making this dish again. Thank you!



    hi Paul , in the last part u just have to lit a coal till it glows than put a piece of bread over chicken makhani and keep the glowing coal on it and pour half a tsp of oil over the coal and cover the pot .Take it out before serving , it will give a good aroma of coal just like in barbecue dishes .


    I could not understand the last part of chicken makhani recipe. which is "coal ka dum". Pls clear Thanking you
