Almond sweet

Recipe by fatma of Dar-es-salaam, TZ

Ingredients vegetarian 10 servings

    • ½ kg Badam (coarsely ground)
    • ½ kg Butter.
    • ½ kg Semolina.
    • 1 ½ tins of Condensed sweet milk
    • 250gms Dessicated coconut
    • 250 gms full cream milk powder
    • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
    • ½ tsp Nutmeg powder
    • ½ tsp Saffron
    • Chopped almonds and pistachios for garnishing.


    1. Melt butter in pan ,fry semolina on medium heat till light brown .
    2. Remove from the heat and add all ingredients , mix well and return to medium heat again.
    3. Cook ,stirring all the time till the mixture leaves the sides.
    4. Remove from the heat and spread in a greased tray.
    5. Flatten it by using a spatula or any flat bottomed  bowl.
    6. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistas.
    7. Cut in diamond shaped pieces.
    8. Ease out the pieces when it is cool.

    Hii fatma. loved your recipe. I used to do it without the coconut but it tastes better your way. By the way can you give me the recipe of khichdo. I would appreciate it.



    Hi! I havent tried with mawa/khoya ,maybe try to put 1 cup of grated mawa and see the results .


    can we put khoya/mawa insteadof milk.milkpowder?how much?


    i tried this recipe.the taste is very hubby liked it but can i use oil insted of butter?



    Maybe you have overcooked it, thats why it became dry.


    I tried this recipe, tasye was good but came out very dry, where did i go wrong, maybe needs more butter.
