Ginger rasam

easy and different .can be used as a side dish or appetizer

different type of rasam.tastes good .can also be used as a soup.real good appetizer. along with a heavy feast,it helps in digestion .serves four .use of oil is very less.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 pieces of ginger-1 inch each
    • 4 flakes of garlic
    • a small ball sized tamarind-soaked in water
    • 1tsp toor daal, boiled and mashed
    • 2 green chillies
    • a pinch of turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp corriander leav
    • 1tsp finelly chopped onion
    • 1/4tsp  fenugreek
    • 1tsp cooking oil
    • salt to taste.

    Directions

    1. Crush garlic, ginger and pepper.
    2. take the juice of tamarind in a tawa
    3. add thur dhal,turmeric powderand 2 cups of water
    4. slit green chillies and add that also
    5. add salt and allow it to boil.
    6. add 1/2 cup of water and the crushed garlic,ginger and pepper  and simmer .when it is about to boil remove from the fire.
    7. add corriander leaves
    8. fry oinionand fenugreek ,using the oil and add this to the rasam
