Ratan Jot is an herb grown in Kashmir. The root is ground to a powder and used as a natural rich red food color in India Ratan Jot is the original spice that is included in food for red color like in Rogan Josh, and Tandoori Chicken. You can get it from any shop where u get the masalas.

Please explain what are 'ratan jog' sticks and where to get it? I always thought Rogan josh was made without onions!
