This recipe is an excellent recipe and I used BBQ grill to make naan and the results were great...

Hi Usha you must be an expert at this. For the rest of us lesser mortals I suggest using a tava. Wet the surface and place the naan till it sticks, then turn it over the gas flame, first on high then lower the flame. I've seen my maid making naans this way. So give it a try.

The pressure cooker explained. Cooker has an open end. Put oil on the inside surface of cooker from open end. The naan is stuck to the inside wall of cooker thru open end. Next the cooker is put on gas flame with the open end on the flame. INVERTED. So the gas is heating the cooker from the open end upwards and inside. Hope this helps.

hi kirti, i have tawa and i used to make naan on tawa in india, i used to stick naan on tawa, uses water. and after popping one side i used to keep naan on direct flame by turn my tawa. so my que was i dont have flame here. we have hot plates. another que is if we are making naan on oven how much degree we have to set for naan. thanks in advance

hi foziakauser, i want to share my experience regarding to naan with you,if u dont hav tawa then u can try naan on to the nonstick frying pan which is flatten, im in UK so i dont also hav tawa so i use flatten pan to make naan,u will hav to take only one care ,slightly reduce size of naan than regular one. u can also try oven for making naan,but it takes more time than usual time.hope your problem will solve out. bye

i was making naan on tawa when i was in India. now i am in USA. we have hot plates here. can we make naan on hot plates??? or can we make naan in oven? plz help

Hi.Dear viewers.Instead of pressure cooker you can make naan on the back side of TAWA also.Just heat the tawa apply water on one side of naan place it on the back surface of tawa on low flame and wait till the brown spot appears or naan leaves the surface itself.

For anyone wanting to make this wonderful recipe here in the US the metric equivalents are a little tricky. Here's what I found, that may make your dish easier to make. 500 grams of Maida (Flour) is equal to 4 cups. The yeast comes out to 3/4 oz. ( dry active yeast is fine) and 1/8th cup of butter. I also found that I could use rinsed cottage cheese (instead of fresh curd) in a pinch and it worked just fine. I fried them on a 300 degree griddle and they turned out beautifully. For best results, rub a stick of butter on the griddle prior to putting down each side of the Nann and pop them in the oven to keep them warm. My kids ate every one we made and then we added some cinnamon and sugar after dinner which turned them into a great dessert dish to finish up the meal. Cheers to Usha of Dubai.

hi usha..ur recipe sounds interesting but i just have a quick question...do we have to just surface the inner part of the cooker with oil..n thn just apply a little water on 1 side of the naan n put it on that inner part of the cooker n let it cook till it gets brown spots.....right...

hi, ur recipe is quite interesting and iam tempted to make it. a very short question to u,if instead of pressure cooker i grill them in hte oven will it be ok . thanks for sharing happy cooking
