Thanks to you all for trying out my recipe. You can also make this recipe by a little different method which is that you may boil 1 cup sugar in 3 cups of water n meanwhile when ghee heats up, keep roasting the atta/wheat in that ghee upto a point where it turns slightly dark brownish in colour & once done, add that boiled sugar n water but be careful because it splashes a bit.Keep stirring the whole mixture n you'll see it turning thick n switch off the gas.

Yes sure Alifiya but the recipe I mentioned will not give you a "barfi like" hardness. It will be like a halwa, infact this is exactly how its made for the sikh gurudwaras. However the one you are talking of is actually pinni which is also made in a similar way but with less ghee & you can make it like laddoos & store for long.

i think we can spread out the mixture in a thali and then cut into square pieces, it can be stored for a longer period too. Any comments here???

if somebody want to replace atta bye sooji,then one cup water is not enough for a fine sooji halwa. use 4 cups water in that case and stir until the sooji leaves ghee.

this is more like suji ka halwa n will change to that very recipie just by replacing aata with suji

if we replace the aata with semolina (suji) we get suji ka halwa.....wotsay?
