Mung Khichdi

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 tbsp Mung Dal
    • 1 Onion
    • a pinch of Cloves and cinnamon powder
    • 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
    • Salt to taste
    • a pinch of turmeric powder
    • coriander and mint leaf
    • 2-3 green chillies
    • 1 cup Rice
    • oil for tempering

    Directions

    1. Heat oil and add Mung dhal and fry till the colour changes to brown.
    2. Add onion, cloves and cinnamon powder, ginger- garlic paste.fry well.
    3. Then add 2 1/2 cups of water, salt, turmeric, green chillies, mint and coriander leafs.mix well and leave to cook.
    4. Then add rice and mix the rice occasionally and leave the water to get absorbed.
    5. Keep the flame in low. close lid and leave for dum 1st round 5 minutes and mix once then 2nd round 2 minutes
    6. Mung kichidi is ready to serve.
